Courtney joined the Monmouth Crossing team with a background in Exercise Physiology, having earned her degree from Georgian Court University. Born and raised in Ocean County, she has a passion for senior living, which she developed through hands-on experience in the industry. Courtney has worked closely with rehab departments and led initiatives in senior living communities, including a role as Engaged Living Director, where she oversaw independent living programs, fitness initiatives, and created a successful Parkinson’s Specific Program. She also managed the fitness center, wellness activities, and a variety of engaging events for residents.
Katy has been an Activities Specialist at Monmouth Crossing since 2021 after receiving a B.F.A in Drawing and Painting from New Jersey City University. She is an Activity Professional Certified through NCCAP, the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals. Katy is also certified as a Dementia Capable Care instructor and teaches the classes to our entire facility. Katy follows a person-centered care approach when it comes to activities and believes that it is also important to incorporate the seven dimensions of wellness into daily programming. No two people are alike, so it is important that we provide choices for our residents and take into consideration their preferences in every aspect of their care. Katy’s goal is to bring a variety of programming and opportunities to the residents of Monmouth Crossing in order to foster friendships, creativity, and a sense of community and belonging for our residents and staff.
As Director of Hospitality for Monmouth Crossing, Debbie has welcomed residents and families to our community since 2004. In addition to managing sales and marketing activities, she provides informative tours to those interested in learning more about Monmouth Crossing, oversees the Concierge/Reception desk, assists all new residents with the move-in process, and ensures that they are comfortable and happy in their new home. Debbie has served as the CentraState team captain for the annual Alzheimer’s Association walk for more than 10 years. Previously, she served as Director of Recreation for two different long-term care nursing facilities. She brings over 25 years of health care experience to Monmouth Crossing.
Kimberly joined the Monmouth Crossing team in 2008, beginning as a Food Service Worker before advancing through several key roles, including Lead Cook, Dining Services Coordinator, and Supervisor. In 2025, she stepped into the role of Dining Services Manager, continuing her long-standing commitment to the Monmouth Crossing community. With 25 years of experience in food service and restaurant management, Kimberly combines experience and creativity in her approach to dining operations. She enjoys creating menus and coordinating special events that enhance the experience for residents. Kimberly holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgian Court University in English, with minors in Marketing and Social Media Marketing, and a concentration in Writing.
As Supervisor of Facilities Management, Chris brings 20 plus years of experience in building trades to Monmouth Crossing. He has over 15 years of experience in managing residential apartment complexes prior to being employed at Applewood Estates for 5 years as their Maintenance Supervisor. He then joined the Monmouth Crossing team in October of 2022. He enjoys putting his skills to use and is hands on with equipment repairs and facility projects. Resident safety and the quality of daily living for the residents at Monmouth Crossing is his number one priority. Chris completed a four-year apprenticeship program through Mercer County College and is HVACR licensed.
Veronica Velazquez-Bruzzese graduated from Kean University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator, trained in Dementia Capable Care, and is a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner and Montessori Professional. Veronica has worked at CentraState for 26 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and photography.
